I began with Accentz in March, 2007, while taking a one year leave-of-absence from flying with Northwest Airlines. At that time I had been a flight attendant for nearly 20 years and was searching for something new and different. I had been married to Todd for 12 years and our daughter, Lauren, was six and-a-half, and I wanted to be home more often; the "glamour" was gone.
I had several phone conversations with Mary Beth Guillaume, the President and Founder of Accentz. The fact that she was this hands-on was testament to her leadership and, therefore, an indicator of the potential success of the young company. The idea of growing a team with the company, and the potential for success, was exciting! I found the product, compensation plan, awards and incentives to be amazing. I couldn't wait to begin!
I began in the suburbs of Minneapolis, where we lived at the time. I also threw parties in cities in Iowa and North Dakota where Todd and I were raised, as our families liked the jewelry and wanted to support me and my business. In June of '06 we moved to St. Cloud, MN where we currently reside. I knew very few people in the community when we arrived but found the people warm and welcoming and, again, really liking Accentz jewelry and wanting to have parties to benefit from our Hostess compensation program!
I have now been retired from the airlines for nearly two years, and there are seven women on our Minnesota Accentz team. We have an energetic, dynamic group of women who all bring someone fresh and different to the group.
